Why write about food? Because food writing is about slowing down, enjoying the process, and finding the words to articulate what makes a meal memorable. Whether you want to improve your well-being through mindful food journaling or sharpen your creative writing skills, this workshop will help you look at your plate differently. Food writing isn’t just an act of expression. It’s an act of thinking. Join us on a Wednesday night or more for our interactive Zoom workshop to discover how writing about your meals can build clarity of thought, deepen your appreciation for fresh produce, and even support your health goals.
What you will gain:
Clarity of Thought: Cultivate a logical flow, find the perfect turn of phrase, and become a sharper thinker.
Mindful Eating: Use reflection to connect with your produce, support your health goals, and truly appreciate your meals.
Community Connection: Share your paragraphs with like-minded peers in a supportive space.
How to join:
Grab your notepad and join us on Wednesday nights (8pm EST) for our interactive Zoom sessions (contact us for the link: engage@freshproducebioactives.com.au).
About the host:

Dr Paul Mason is an anthropologist at Macquarie University with a passion for bridging the gap between science and the arts. He has successfully led nature writing workshops at the Taronga Conservation Society Australia, and his work spans both academic and creative worlds. Paul’s writing has been featured in a diverse range of literary, scientific, and popular publications, including The Conversation, Cosmos, Croakey, Leadlight Magazine, and Australasian Science.
Currently, he works within an interdisciplinary research team investigating the cutting-edge science of bioactives in plant foods—giving him a unique, science-backed perspective on what we put on our plates.
Paul won’t be hosting alone, either! Each week, he will be joined by a vibrant lineup of guest chefs, professional food writers, and research scientists to bring you fresh perspectives from across the culinary and scientific worlds.
